Receiving this little set of cookbooks was one highlight of my week. Anyone who knows me, knows I love cookbooks. I don't know why, but this set is a fond childhood memory and when I found it on Amazon, I had to have it. It cost all of $8.00 for the set.

This is one of the books in the set and has a memory all its own. My mom(Grandma Gipe), in her efforts to be the consumate housewife and homemaker, began planning meals and fixing proper dinners. She was putting her little heart into the efforts and decided to prepare the recipe below.

My dad(Grandpa Gipe), who had also tried his best to be supportive approved of the meal but, "...the 'potatoes' were still crunchy."

Calvin, I thought you might want to try this recipe before you leave Kentucky. Give us a report when you get back.

I love the references to the homemaker.

You can't see the address for the publishing co. but it is Kentucky. You know how those Kentuckians love their squirrel.

Hannah made a frosting recipe from the Desserts book.

Happy Valentine's Day! Emily is going to share the cookies she frosted with Harrison. Harrison is going to sing to her a song called Emily, and he is going to prepare an allergy free dinner for her tonight. Sweet.

Paul visited Florida earlier in the week. His beautiful hotel was on the beach and he brought home these shells.

I had a project. I was told to throw away all my 10 year old socks. Amy was my instructor. I was obedient and cleaned out my top drawer. Here is proof, I thew out those old socks Amy.

And here are the new socks Amy bought for her momma. Thank you Amy!!!!! I love my socks.
Thank you for looking at this weeks events.
