Our Favorite Breakfast- German Pancake

This is our favorite family breakfast. I've been making this since before I was married, before I was a mom.

Here is the cookbook. Notice my chicken scratch, trying to cut down on fat and calories. I see the tell tale mark of a child as well. I think I love the cookbook even more with these crayon marks. My children love to cook and I think it began at a young age.

Here I see more crayon marks, but what I also love is the publisher of this book had a little oversight. This picture isn't clear enough but its page 42 on the left and 102 on the rith. Fortunately they didn't leave out the pages in-between, they are just backwards. I can count backwards, so its all good. One more mark of endearment for this little book.

Very easy on the list of characters and the budget.
Recipe:

6 eggs-beaten well and then add
1/4 butter-melted
1 cup flour
1 cup milk-I was out and had to mix my own with dry powdered milk
I also throw in 1 teaspoon each salt and sugar.
Or just click on this link for the recipe.

I whirled it all in my Kitchen-Aid at high speed for about 5 minutes.

I melted about 1/4 cup butter in the 9"x 13" in the oven at 425 degree oven for about 5 minutes.

Then poured the mix in the hot dish.

Bake the batter in the 425 degree oven for about 20 minutes until it looks like this below.

It bakes up beautiful and puffy and golden brown.

This serves 6 small appetites or 3 to 4 larger ones.

I sprinkled powdered sugar all over and I love mine with a squeeze of fresh lemon, (I was out of lemon too) my kids happen to prefer pancake syrup. Its very yummy served with bacon or sausage and fruit.
