Sunday Drive To Camano Island

A few weeks ago, Paul wanted to take a drive to Camano Island.  Its only about an hour drive north from home. There is a state park on the island and it had a great write up in Sunset magazine a few months ago.

On our drive to the park, we stopped to see Gunnar.  He didn't know we were at his house.  We admired his cute little sleeping position.

Although, he may have a kink in his neck when he wakes up.

Here is his beautiful crib and bedding set.  This was a gift from family.  Family, you did good.  I love this set.

The fabric is very soft and looks like dotted swiss, but it isn't.

I can be a little ADD, so on our Sunday trip to Camano Island, we left Gunnar's house and this is our..."excellent driver."  Can you name the movie?

Here is the song list.

We brought some healthy snacks.

We brought these 2 passengers.

Amy was having a day without baby.  Sometimes, moms need a break.  Gunnar was hanging out with his daddy.

As we got to the park, we took a little walk down to the cabins.

Emily is taking in the view.  The island you see in the background is Whidby Island.

These cabins are adorable.  Amy is adorable!!

Emily found a suffering sea creature.

Amy decided to put the suffering creature back from whence it came.

She hurled it back to the sea.

Isn't this cute?  This park used to be owned privately by a family.  They donated the property to the state and now its a beautiful state park.
I don't know what these are but I am sure the family used them at one time and now its a cute little display.  Maybe its gas or something.

We spent a lovely Sunday afternoon exploring and now we head back home.

I think we will reserve a weekend here.

This is the link to Sunset magazine's article on the park.  You'll have to scroll down to number 3, on the list of Top 10 Hideaways By The Sea.
