All I Want For Christmas Is My ...

Tonsills?  Well, maybe a tonsillectomy.  Who doesn't want surgery at Christmas time?  Especially a surgery that has a long and painful recovery?  And especially when the surgery center forgot to add you to their schedule.  You show up first thing in the morning and are told you have to wait and be added after the last case.  Well, Hannah got to spend several hours with mom and pop before the surgery.
Here she is, pre-op.

One last hug before going back.

Recoverying with Grandparents.

Now, I won't show you the pictures, but I have them.  A very, very small percentage of patients have a morbilliform reaction to some medications.  It presents with a measles like rash.  It feels pretty bad.  If you ask Hannah, it feels worse than the measles.  Lots of pain, joint swelling and a hideous rash.  Hannah is the lucky one.  After 9 days of tonsillectomy recovery, this reaction breaks out.  A Christmas vacation to remember.

We wish her a speedy recovery.  It is no fun to watch your baby uncomfortable.

On to pleasantness.  This little fella was enjoying all the excitement of Christmas

A little dazed perhaps.  But this doggy was his new best friend.

More surprises!!

I didn't take many pictures but a small samplying of the festivities.  Cal and Monique were recipients of Santa's generosity.

Why is it it takes weeks of planning, wrapping, scheduling, plotting and you open up the gifts and its all over in the blink of an eye?

Rememeber Ralphie in the bunny suit?

I had just wanted to see a baby discoverying one more time :)
